Focus And Stay Afloat

I was surprised by the recent definition used to define forensics by one our leaders recently. I had for year believed that forensics was about using the sciences to solve legal problems. I loved Quincy the movie and over the years any other movies that stayed true to this forensic pathologist theme. Now I learnt that my cousin has recently qualified to be a forensic accountant. In all its uses it is about clearing the air and finding out the truth rather than distorting fact to convince otherwise. When we lose sight of our positive purpose then many original ideas may morph into destructive ones which may inevitable cause us to sink to great lows.

                    Focus And Stay Afloat
Forensics is applying the scientific know how

On legal problems which relevant parties may disavow

Criminality shouldn’t be our focus or our behavior sleuth

Ultimately forensics is about seeking the truth

Sometimes from our goals we may go astray

A brief moment when we looked away

Nodded or even just took a blink

Diverted a thought when we stopped to think

Staying on track requires that you concentrate

Target your focus and on this alone deliberate

Along time ago we learnt from the Holy Savior

You can, if you focus, walk on water

And if doubts set in and you as much as blink

Fate has it that you are bound to sink

Let’s use forensics to uncover the truth

On things which when we focus deserves reproof

And remember Peter when he exited the boat

Target your concentration, focus and stay afloat
