The Outpatients

Our local Hospital needs much revamping. Just one visit to the A&E or the Outpatient Clinic would be antidotal enough to ensure your good health. You wouldn’t want to become a part of this assembly line

The Outpatients

They sit in discomfort and wait patiently

Hours pass and still they sit tolerantly

Exchanging experiences with apparent strangers

Offering comforts to sooth ailing sufferers

Urgency seems foreign to the caregivers there

They move around as if they haven’t a care

Patients are all given the same appointment

Arriving early does not prevent disappointment

Time comes and it’s your turn to go in

It takes just a few minutes after all the waiting

Each trip to the Outpatients Clinic is the same

Not even after many years do they know your name

The records are archaic and if they are not there

Seeing the doctor on that day would be very rare
