Happy Thanksgiving Day

Some cultural influences are great to adopt. With all the talk about cultural penetration, it seems we overlooked the good aspects of foreign societies that we can emulate. We have so much to be thankful for and today it’s about time we let God know.

Happy Thanksgiving Day

How often I have heard that we

Allow other cultures into our country

Polluting our morals and infesting the young

Popular icons with their dress, bling bling and song

Yesterday I watched and as I recall

Those objectors to cultural penetration object to all

Have we given thought to America’s great tradition

And how in 1619 it pre-dates George Washington

Now hundreds of years afterwards they celebrate

Keeping this tradition alive to commemorate

Successful arrival across the uncharted seas

Giving God the thanks for His wondrous glories

I marvel at the exuberance of how families reunite

Venturing miles, sometimes traveling day and night

It’s admirable how they all sit together as a family

Normally saying what they’re thankful for over baked turkey

Giving God thanks for even the simple things

Days trouble free and the joys the night brings

America may have brought us lots of fad

Yesterday’s thanksgiving tells me it’s not all bad
