Those Who Should Know

I was a cry baby, and all my siblings need to do is to tell a lie on me and down would come a flood of tears. I may have dried my tears now but I always feel the same when I am falsely accused.

Those Who Should Know

Try to keep a closer watch on him

He could be doing drugs, he behaves too grim

Or someone may accuse you of disloyalty

Seeing another friend with infidelity

Every time these character assassins are met

Wear a smile, beef up your confidence and don’t fret

How ever often they sound their reproving refrain

Overlook their ignorance and from arguments abstain

Such people who don’t know you but still accuse

Have agendas to deceive and to confuse

Others who listen for gossip to judge maliciously

Untrue comments that are often said spitefully

Long ago I overheard comments about me

Dangerous rants that led to much infamy

Kept this in mind, now whenever people say

Negative things that might cause me dismay

Only the people I love can inflict a blow

Words that hurt only come from those who should know
