My Independence

Are we enjoying independence? Sometimes we take others for granted and before we can turn around, they are gone, too far from your reaches.

My Independence

My love was planted on this fair soil

Years invested with my blood and toil

I was devoted and respectful to her

Never strayed or let others deter

Days have gone by and her independence came

European ties broken and we’re no longer the same

People I know, will change as the years go by

Everyone will progress if we all would try

Now my little BIM has shown she needs me no moore

Dependence was broken and her Trident bore

Every hole in the straps that secured our ties

Now the bonds have met the ultimate demise

Commitments have changed and though I live here

East and West are closer than our lives appear
