de las' calf kill de cow

They say when you repeat the same action often enough it is bound to have disastrous consequences. I would like to believe that this is true for criminals and that their action will lead to their eventual demise. See how this Bajan Proverb unfolds.

de las' calf kill de cow.

David moved quietly

Entered the room discreetly

Looked around to find

Anything that was left behind

Something like the TV from the house next door

Computer or anything to fetch even more

And there before his very eyes

Laid and even greater surprise

Five stacks of hundred dollar bills

Kept in the cupboard behind the pills

It was his easiest theft yet

Lots easier than taking the TV set

Loads of money and nothing to sell

David ran with excitement but tripped and fell

Ended up in the empty pool where unconscious laid he

Caught later by the neighbors living next door to me

Our district, plagued with theft will be quiet now

We know it’ll stop cause de las’ calf kill the cow
