Now Serving Life

It’s really hard to have to serve a sentence for life when you know that you are not guilty. I had a strange boyhood. As I remember, I cried every time someone told lies on me. Up until I was about 10 years. That was unusual but I think I still suffer this cry baby tendency. I have a morbid fear of being accused of anything. The good thing about it is that it keeps me clean and in good company.

Now Serving Life

No one believed his testimony

Opposing lawyer argued for maximum penalty

When the jury came back it was a unanimous verdict

Sentenced for murder with no chances to acquit

Every day he served time regretting his misdeed

Running with bad company now he’ll never be freed

Verdict was overturned when the killers confessed

Innocent man released but society was unimpressed

No one believed him, they thought him a phony

Guilt by association, he kept bad company

Life sentence was his verdict and though freed he remains

In shackles and bounded by societal restrains

Friends can determine if you’ll be living in strife

Exercise caution when choosing your sentence for life
