Dreams Turned Into Nightmares

He filled my dreams and made them a reality. His promises were kept and our lives together seem like a fairy tale. I felt like Cinderella, only, I never had to rush away at midnight. Tonight I don’t want to dream.

Dreams Turned Into Nightmares

I was in love with him and quickly said I do

‘Dreams I had as a child had finally come true

Reaching this place in my life was an elusive landmark

All I’d had before him was dismal and dark

The wedding was regal, we had all our friends

His eyes filled with tears as we wished it never ends

Entertainment came from far and wide

Rappers, tenors, dancers they left us all teary eyed

Bouquets of roses were in full bloom

Every corridor was adorned in every room

Ecstasy was the order of the night

None of the excitement stopped when we left on our flight

Rome was our first stop but the romance did continue

All over Europe and in every venue

Paris was like all I’d been told and even more

Eifel tower, French cuisine and wines galore

Days spent on our honeymoon had course the way

Brought the standard we set for love and foreplay

Yester years were bliss but today he has changed

A loving husband now behaves estranged

Saturday last we’d quarrel and he left that night

Took a duffle bag after he booked his flight

Returned a week later with a knife in his hand

And made me pleasure him with forceful demand

Now he’d taken away our future and also our past

Good memories we had together were dying real fast

Every dream I dream now becomes a nightmare

Raped by him is worst than by someone for whom I don’t care
