The Worst Of All Thieves

Recently in South California there was a devastating fire which destroyed over 1300 homes and buildings. Thousand of acres were gutted. The fire sped over the land for over one week stealing away the beauty of Mother Nature and robbing each of the families of lifetime memories, completely irreplaceable.

The Worse Of All Thieves

Topography beautiful for many miles

Horticultural landscaping with rosette smiles

Every approaching foliage more detailed

Wearing blossoms that pleased when you inhaled

Our house overlooked the valley below

Right above where the daffodils grow

So we can see all the lands around

Enjoy nature’s beauty all day long

One day and for the remaining week

Fire broke out just below the creek

And spread with gush like tornado winds

Lighting trees, houses, and large buildings

Looking at the destruction it left behind

This Fire was the worst thieve I’d ever find

How it took precious memories that can’t be replaced

It robbed value beyond time and space

Emergency teams worked through day and night

Victoriously battling the fire’s plight

Eden it once was but now society grieves

Stolen landscape and memories by the worst of all thieves
