My Thoughtful Friend

He ran to help every time we came home and was always protective. I remember spending many morning and night together just passing the time. The conversation never seemed on way

My Thoughtful Friend

My sister’s car pulled up outside the gate

Yearning for a meal, she was tired, it was late

The dogs are normally taken from the driveway

Housed behind a gate where they’ll need stay

On most nights she’ll get out to lock them in

Up, go inside, she’ll instruct after her warm greeting

Getting this done was never a bother

Her dogs anticipate her intentions and go over

Then one night seemingly disobeying her call

Frostie ran back to move Savvy’s ball

Unbelievably he’d notice its removal by her

Looks out now to be a thoughtful helper

Frostie never needs our prompting

Reactions are usually fast when we are approaching

It’s incredible how he can be so aware

Exhibiting thoughtfulness but strangers need beware

Night before Frostie laid in the driveway and didn’t move

Dysplasia now affects him getting up, he may never improve
