He Made The Ass Talk

Hee haw hee haw the ass brayed

Endeavoring to veer but to Balaam’s path it stayed

Moments later its vision came back

And it crushed his foot squeezing through the track

Donkey, foolish animal, and Balaam smote it again

Eager to move on he tightened his rein

The donkey seem even more stubborn cause then it stopped

Had another Hee haw and then it dropped

Every time for three times the ass he smote

And on this time with a staff suspended from his coat

Soon the ass didn’t bray but in terrifying disbelief

Spoke to Balaam expressing its grief

Then its vision appeared and now Balaam too saw

An angel who had been barring his flaw

Lashes you inflicted on it but your ass never betrayed

Kept you safe from the danger of my exacting blade
