The Seven Deadly Sins..For Star Jones

This topic came up recently and every since then it has been flooding me with things to say. I don’t think I’m quite finish yet. But one really good thing about it in the personal introspection that reassures me that I’m free of these Seven Deadly Sins.

The Seven Deadly Sins… for Star Jones

There are seven cardinal sins known to Man

Have any one of them and you’ll defy God’s plan

Eternal life He has charted for me and you

Show any of these sins and bid this eternity adieu

Engrave this in your mind as an easy mnemonic

Vernacular to protect you from these things demonic

Each of the seven letters represents a sin

Never forget GALPEGS, that’s where to begin

Do that first then expand them and you’ll never be off

Expanded to Greed, Anger, Lust, Pride, Envy, Gluttony and Sloth

And then learn each of them inside out

Don’t give up until you know them without a doubt

Learn them in my order or juggle them as you may

You need only to understand them so learn them anyway

Some call Greed Avarice or Covetousness but they’re all the same

Ignoring Spirituality for material wealth and fame

Now Anger sometimes referred to as wrath

Substitutes love with fury, you frown when you could’ve laughed

Fixations on craving the pleasures of the body

Ought to describe Lust with no ambiguity

Right at the top, foremost is Pride, the others’ origin

Such undue belief in ones abilities and God’s graces forgetting

There’s Envy, the desire for others' traits, abilities, or situation.

And Gluttony undue desire to consume more than your quotient

Rounding these seven deadly sins off

Just the avoidance of physical and spiritual work is Sloth

Our lives are made much easier if we follow God’s way

No Greed, Anger, Lust, Pride, Envy, Gluttony or Sloth with pray

Everyone who invites the Savior and whose soul He wins

Should be saved from the menaces of these 7 Deadly Sins
