Blinded By The Light

Sometimes I write and then I read. My poems are often as strange to me as to you. But then I listen closely to the message and I realized that I capture what my inspiration spoke to me.  I believe thaty my work in inspired by our Father up above, to whom I pray for guidance. Often the messages conflict with my original beliefs but clarity soon comes. IU am telling you this because of the many dissenting voices, probably just like yours, who challenge the concept of walking with the Holy Spirit. I pray that this opens your eyes, no necessarily to persuade you, but that you can understand my perception. Remember that John was a very old man and his writings at the time of completion were viewed only as the ranting of senility. Now the book of Revelations is as its title.

Blinded By The Light

Brave soldiers using night goggles to see in the dark

Lie in wait then blinded by a simple match spark

In bed she laid still tired at 10 in the morning

Night restless now blinded when the maid pulled the curtain

Debilitating surgery left bandages covering the eyes

Everyone was removed but the first light was a blinding surprise

Darkness overwhelm the room as they groped for the switch

Blinded when it was flicked on without a hitch

Your migraine was unbearable and hurt you severely

The once valued sunlight, now blinding, has become an enemy

How often essential light has opposing effect

Enjoyable flickers could change to annoying infect

Light sheds it glow to favor our sight

It enhances access makes our way bright

Glow comes too from a deeper light within

Holy Spirit inside of us is always shinning

This glow may blind a friend temporarily

Such is the Light of the Holy Spirit inside of me
