The Bruised Spirit

When we are hurt by the actions of others, whether deliberate or unintended, we need to remember that God give us the remedy to mend these wound. We play a role and depend on each other daily for our mutual spiritual health. God has made it so important that we love even our enemies that he places this in His commandments

The Bruised Spirit

The Lord gives us daily bread for the soul

He allows His people to share and console

Everyone the other with our liberal tongue

But sometimes like a sword it can do awful wrong

Ripping away and slashing at our spirit

Unequivocal damage, so many do it

I got caught by the double sharp blade

Sliced me inside and a scar it made

Exerting no pain but a crippling instead

Destroying the will and confusing the head

Something changes me now when ever I hear

People saying how much they care

I am bruised from people’s dishonesty

Reposed though by the promises God made to me

I mend these inflictions that bruise my spirit

They are treated with love, faith and divine fellowship
