Creeping Old Man

I admit that I always wonder why old people took so long to do everything; of course this was my earlier years. Then, my sister laughed at me when she saw me taking up something that fell. For me it all happened fast, until I realized that she was laughing at how slow I was moving. It was easy to see what she saw then. I was like my gran parents and didn’t realized

Creeping Old Man

Cringed and crawling slowly

Right in front of everybody

Easing his way across the room

Each action meticulously time consumed

Patience are tested, people must wait

Inadvertently he makes everyone late

No higher gears to speed up, his motions are slow

Getting old now dictates the pace he must go

Old man creeping doesn’t know that he

Limits others from reaching their destiny

Deliberately he steps to secure your balance

Minds and temper flare and there’s heated parlance

And without realizing it, these otherwise mannerly folk

Nudged the Creeping Old Man until his spirit broke
