Breadfruit

I hope this thing called breadfruit is nutritional. I have enjoyed it for many years, compliments of and earlier romantic interest that introduced me to breadfruit chips and kept them coming. I missed them for almost 20 years, but thanks to good old mom, I have rekindled my love for these delights.

Even when refrigerated they keep their crunch and no need to add salt. One thing I always remembered is how they kept me warmed even when I wore my vest shirts in the windy stands at the Stadium

Breadfruit

Baked, roasted, cooked or fried

Rich in flavor however it’s tried

Eating this strange plant is a pleasure for me

Anyway it’s prepared it’s always tasty

Don’t know why we call it Breadfruit

Fallen ones never germinate or spring a root

Ripe ones just rot and disappear

Usually fruit have seeds which germinate with care

I enjoy breadfruit best prepared as chips

They’re food and snacks which need no dips
