Functioning PTA

We all must collectively share the responsibility of bringing up kids. It doesn’t stop at home nor does it start at school. But there is more to it than lengthening the skirts. And surely we can’t tell our kids that there is an association with skirt length and sex. Also, school is the place of learning, so why don’t we teach our children to better respect their bodies and rules. And perhaps a little more about the truths of their own sexuality, maybe we can avert the high incidence of STI’s and teenage pregnancies. Education goes well beyond the school gate.

Functioning PTA

Farley snapped his whip and sent kids packing

Uniforms shorter than they should be wearing

Now some cry out against his actions

Criticism has left mixed reactions

This should have never happened, they say

I wonder how much of our morals must decay

Our heads have to work to bring up each kid

Nurture and make them into something splendid

It’s time we take responsibility into our hands

Not leave it hoping the head understands

Get out to meeting regularly and lend your voice

Put forward your concerns and express your choice

The morals of our kids need never go astray

All it would take is a Functioning PTA
