Thou Shalt Not Tempt The Lord

I have been telling my friend for years that you can’t pray over cocaine. This should be obvious giving the potency of the drug. But what about those things that are not as obvious but we still know they are bad for us. Can we pray away the toxicity of mad cow meat, of mercury filled fish contaminated produce?

Thou Shalt Not Tempt The Lord

There is no doubting the Lord’s divinity

His wonders are everywhere

Our lives are filled with His wondrous glory

Unlimited love and constant care

So are we wrong to expect that He’ll intervene

Have a hand to protect us, come what may

Are we wrong to believe the unforeseen

Lurks but is made harmless with pray

The Lord in His omnipresence is always near

Nothing escapes His eyes

Our Father will protect us from what we fear

Turning all our tears into smiles

There is nothing broken that He couldn’t mend

Every wrong He can easily repair

Miraculously He can remove what ailment may offend

Perfect health He need never forbear

The Lord sent Jesus that we need never guess

The things we’re allowed to ask for

His 40 days and 40 years in the wilderness

Exposed the temptations Satan may implore

Like praying over cocaine is definitely wrong

Or saying “I’ll do anything if I only could…”

Remember Satan will implore you so never go along

Don’t “Tempt the Lord thy God” when you know it’s not good
