Dangerous Landmines

Have you ever been to the website In Touch Ministries? Well I did and I was impressed by the first sermon in the landmine series, which corresponds with Chapter 6 in “Landmines in the Path of the Believer,” Dr. Charles Stanley’s new book. The message inspired the following work, please see the sermon on the website.

Dangerous Landmines

D
eadly is Compromise and it’s also destructive

A landmine in life which is subtle and seductive

Nibbling away at your conscience and at God’s standard

Giving into temptation and disobeying His word

Every time you step across the line

Refuse to tell your tempters you’ll decline

Or agree to take just that first little step

Ultimately it’ll lead you away from God’s fellowship

Slowly compelling you to always want more

Looking more suitable today than it did before

And whether it’s just one drink or one lottery ticket

Next time it’ll be easier and soon you can’t quit

Dangerous landmines pave your path up ahead

Make sure you're not self-reliant, lean on God instead

In life don’t compromise rather ComEpromise

Not to take that first step, never take the risk

Evade these landmines by stepping along God’s way

Speak with Him daily and every morning kneel and pray
