Silent Victims
I’m very much
against the selling of God’s word, even the sale of bibles. But worse is the
unusual profit realized but the “evangelists” who prey on the emotions of the
unsuspecting young and weak followers. One of the reasons they continue to rob
the many is because of their influence on the few. The few stronger listeners who
sing they praises and ignore the fact that these spiritual marketers and profiteering
on millions. Because we are unaffected by
our listening it doesn’t mean that through our participation we are not aiding
and facilitating these modern day pirates. Just remember when one wins millions
in a lottery; millions were lost collectively by many. Do you know anyone who
suffered because a love one squanders thousands of dollars every month to
lotteries or who behaves uncouth each time they lose money or steals in order
to continue this obsession. Regrettably there are so many who do.

Silent Victims There
is a cost on everything we do How
many would tell me they already knew Even
the things we rate to be free and nice Profit
silently with a hidden price Robbers
who in the dark of the night Invade
your homes for their stealing plight Can
be trusted to take away your property Extract
your valuables and breach your security You
know with them what you may expect On
this you’ll act and take measures to protect Useful
treasures, irreplaceable stuff and priceless gains Property
we value more than our own brains And
so when thieves purport on TV to evangelize You
switch on each night, watching with shaded eyes Inviting
spiritual leader of questionability Slowly
to rob you of a greater integrity They
profit through God’s word hosted on their show Overtime
millions view and their profits grow On
you they depend so by trained marketing Give
stimulating performances to keep you returning Ratings
sore and millions convinced will buy Except
you, buying religion is not something that you’ll comply Alas
if your lottery ticket should win one day Taking
your bounty only means others threw their’s away |
