The Morning Prayer

Sometime when I wait, just before stepping out of bed, I smile at the dream I just finished. It feels like leaving a cinema, having just watched this really great film. I thank God for this first of all, almost the same way as you thank the head waiter after a great meal. You see, there was a time in my life when 8 out of 10 times my sleep was visited by some of my most horrific experiences. This now is only one of the many blessings the Lord has given me. When I roll and bend my feet to the ground, I realize I can walk and I feel His Glory even more, there was a time I couldn’t walk and a time I couldn’t…..oh well! Too many to tell!

 The Morning Prayer

Thank you Lord for coming when I went astray

How you’d hooked me with your rod as I wandered away

Encompassed me in your wings for security

Made me fearless and gave me immortality

Oh Lord thanks for giving me another day to spend

Revealing your blessings to family, foe and friend

Never giving up, always encouraged to be

Inviting them to your gift of Life eternity

Now give me dear Lord my daily bread

Grace me with your presence in the road up ahead

Prevent my tongue from uttering a harsh word

Remembering it’s as dangerous as a double edge sword

Allow me precious God to make my body your vessel

Yours to be an example and your righteous consul

Embrace the day and by my actions, may this maxim follow

Repeating: Yesterday was good, Today’s great but better will be Tomorrow!
