Why Do We...Deserve These Blessings

I watch the news with diligence during the prevailing hurricane Dean and thank God that once more we were saved from the possible dangers of Mother Nature’s wrath. But then I remembered all the other blessings that we take for granted when I saw the suffering of so many others all over the world.  I ask “Why do We deserve these Blessings?”

Why Do We…Deserve These Blessings?

Why do we deserve His blessing?

His gifts bestowed generously

You’d think from all our transgressing

Despair would come daily

Our daily supply of life giving bread

Washed air which fills our lungs

Elsewhere many not getting are dead

Dust from volcanoes stain their tongues

Enjoying the beauty of the yellow sun

Sleeping peacefully at night

Eskimos have long winters and there is none

Rebels disturb peace with fight

Very crystal waters at a golden sandy beach

Eagles gliding up in the sky

To many people these are out of reach

How ever hard they may try

Embracing the glory of good general health

Spared the passing hurricane

Easterners not so lucky have minimal wealth

Builders are still busy rebuilding

Lord’s Blessings help us to walk steadily

Energized with no known disease

So many are confined to bed daily

Suffering at varying degrees

It’s the miracles of God’s Love that we

Never are forsaken

God promises if we repent earnestly

Sinful transgressions will be forgiven
