She Travels Away

With all the plane crashes, terrorism, abduction, gun slayings, natural disasters and so much more that contributes to the demise of so many, you might understand why I am a little uncomfortable when my friends travel. The Lord promises to protect us in our going outs and our coming ins but Christian die too. So every farewell could be a good-bye. Embrace each other warmly as you part company, and remember that though the body may die the spirit lives on.

She Travels Away

Some times when people travel miles apart

Hours and days may test the heart

Every moment spent from that special one

Teaches us new ways of being alone

Roads seem different than we’d traveled on

And people more familiar when she’s gone

Visions of her embodied in every room

Every news clip haunting of peril and gloom

Lord I never understood why I felt this way

Since I’ve always trusted You that she’ll be okay

All the time my focus has been wrong

Was fixed on the flesh all along

And now wherever may be her destiny

Yesterday when she left, her spirit stayed with me.
