Friendly Fire

Why all the cover-up when comrades accidentally shoot and kill each other. So many people deserve the truth and when these accidents happen abroad and spouses and friends at home are lied to, only the worst can become of it. In the end, that deadly bullet reaches home shores and destroys the confidence in the cause that the decease opted to brave his life for. The enemy wins, without pulling the trigger that took that life.

Friendly Fire

Folks should be told the truth up front

Right from the very start

It shouldn’t be the hidden brunt

Eclipsing who really took part

Navies and Armies and our local polices

Do the cover-up betray

Love ones are shrouded in a doubtful fleece

Young lives are lost from a stray

Friendly fire is by no means friendly

It brings out the worst in friends

Rival combatants and villains win, ultimately

Every time our shooter or side pretends
