Flood of Tears

I was deeply moved by the suffering of the people in India and Bangladesh. It is so traumatic to one day find that everything you own is lost in flood waters. These catastrophic waters washed away New Orleans and there was an outpouring of tears. Now, not so long afterward we have yet another devastating flood. We must share each others pain, share each other’s prays and realize that we are all tenants together on one earth. Love thy neighbor.

Flood of Tears

For the people of India and Bangladesh

Let’s kneel and say a prayer

Our hopes for their comfort to be refreshed

Our prayer to end their despair

Days now since they were trapped

On their roofs fleeing the waters

Forced by this flood to adapt

To a life with famine and no covers

Earth may be quickly reshaping

And nations soon may suffer

Rains as strong as a hurricane

So let us all pray for each other
