The Eraser
I was reflecting
on my days of art when I discovered the plastic crayon. It was like a wax
crayon, only, you could erase it, clean like it was never there. This changed
my artwork tremendously. I was drawing faster and more accurately, all because
of the confidence of knowing my mistakes can be corrected. Then I strated
thinking about how good it would be to be able to use plastics crayons on
life’s canvas. According to Big Bird from

The Eraser Those little errors on paper we made Have invariably been by us corrected Easily wiped away, removed
permanently Erased from onlookers eyes to see Rubbers at school played their part And changed slips of our penciled art Sentences reduced once words were
removed Eliminating what harsher terms may
prove Rants from our thoughts can
destruction give And provoke people to not want to
live Now your words need not shout Use an eraser and wipe them out Life would be greater if we can
easily Take an eraser and blot out adversity Inappropriate deeds reversed and
replaced Mistakes forgotten once erased As we corrected words with White-Out There’s something to make a smile
from a pout Erase the frown from your friend’s
face Correct the wrong which plagues our
race Our lives would be so different if we
use these Rubbers like “I’m sorry” and “excuse me please” Responses like “It’s my fault” or ”It’s me not you” Erases the hatred we caused to brew Cautions like “I didn’t mean to” and “never again” Take away the harm and numbs the pain “I shouldn’t have” or “I’ll change it right away” Overturns wrongs and assures ”it’s going to be okay” Now if you are late then use “dinner’s on me” Flowers or gifts or an apology Outrageousness is blotted out and
never prevails Reaction will change with these
simple details Life would be better with more “I love You” It would be even better to hear “I love you too” “Forgive me Father for all my sins” Erases all wrongs, thoughts and bad
doings. |
