For Worldly Things
We have been warned about trying to pursue those meaningless
things in life that we prioritize well before our own salvation. So we
appreciate that lusting over jewels, mansions and all the other material
luxuries is wrong but have we been overlooking the simplest of things that we
consider essential. Do we realize that putting food, drink and clothes are
equally as dangerous to our salvation?

For Worldly Things Forfeit
the thoughts of things worldly On these
things they shall be no eternity Rejoicing
in the things of the world Would
forfeit eternity for any boy or girl Observe
the fowl of the air Reap
not still they haven’t a care Lillie
of the fields, how they grow David’s
Solomon in his glory was no better show Life
is not pondering on raiment, drink or meat Your
thoughts shouldn’t be on things to eat The
Heavenly Father knows you need of these Have faith
as you pray upon your knees In Him you
must trust, seek His Kingdom first Never put
this priority in reverse God will
ensure all things be added unto you Seek first
His Kingdom and your troubles will be through |
