Myasthenia Gravis (MG)

I reflected on the enduring positive way my old friend copes with his chronic disease. He shows no outward effects of this illness. When he first revealed it to me I was in awe, or maybe disbelief. My knowledge of autoimmune diseases activated a doomsday syndrome. I’m glad to have been wrong.

It’s almost 10 years now since we met and he is as alive now as he was then. He is an even better man, with greater insights and an abundance of charisma. Its easy to become swell headed in the business he is in and it takes constant reminders and self controls with lots of integrity to preserve his amicable attitude. I will continue to pray for his wellness and hope that his spirit in contagious and infects the thousands of people he reaches every day..

Muscle cells no longer adequately receive

Your impulses which the nerve cells perceive

Attacks are raged by your very own

System responsible for immunity alone

The eyelids may droop and fatigue sets in

Hard to swallow and there’s general weakening

Everyday is different but everyday you say

Nothing will spoil this incredible day

Incurable it may be but never compelling

Autoimmune diseases in you need not win

Got to keep on living the life you know

Revel when you can, let the pearly whites show

Accentuate the positive and the negative eliminate

Value great people and the simple ones appreciate

It comes as no real surprise to me

Someone like you conquering this MG
