Social Partners

Do you remember the Church in Little House on the Prairie? As I recall, all matters concerning the township were addressed to insure fairness and morality for all. We have more churches than days but the moral fiber of our society is dwindling away as Political entities make more unilateral decisions in this country.

In fact, more recently I have been seeing Political figures speaking on the pulpits of our churches. My biasness prevents me from saying this in any other way but for me, A politician on the pulpit is even worse than a preacher in Parliament. The two should effectively function apart. What would be great is if we can get the politicians to be thinking more like preachers, well sort of.

Social Partners

Someone finally had the guts to say

Our Social Partners are too quiet today

Civil Silence by them is a dereliction of duty

It violates the blind trust of our Bajan Society

And now it’s hard to tell which is worse

Legislative dwarfism of morality in reverse

Politicians may trick us to secure our votes

And later deny it, crying, it must be misquotes

Religious groups however must preserve integrity

Their agendas are based on a higher morality

National deviations from impartial choice

Entreats the Social Partners to sound their voice

Regrettably though this hasn’t been happening

"Silence in..issues of corruption in public life is deafening"
