The Den of Iniquity

You probably have one in your neighhbourhood. This corner shop attracts all kinds and seems endless in law breakers, even greater in iniquity. They are frequented by men and women trying to drown their sorrows our desperately seeking to escape the class chains by winning the lottery. Every day they all return to repeat it all.

If the lotteries pay out Millions how much did it first acquire so as to make a profit? How many individual lost before one could win? How many people never win? How much drink does it take to quench the thirst of sorrow? Young infants are drinking beer and more!

When you visit the bakery and the room is full of flour you take home a thin coat. If a place is full of iniquity what do you take home after a visit?

                                       The Den of Iniquity

There is a neighbourhood stop

Home converted to house and shop

Evil thing go on right there

Dope, Drunkenness, people picking a fare

Every customer gets a bonus to hold

Not shelved or packaged, taken but not sold

On their bodies when they walk away

Follows iniquity like a hungry lost stray

I saw the difference a visit makes

Noticed how people’s loves turn to hates

Its alarming what a visit can do

Quick to convert good people you knew

Ugliness possess them, their cares disappear

I watch men gamble and wait in fear

They then sit back hoping next time to win

Your stop at this shop gives you a coat of sin..

    Well said!

I have one of these shops in my neighborhood too. Every time I see the folk coming from this place I wonder what it is that they do across there. Everyone leaving that place always seem to be ill tempered and when you drive by, its like a different world is staring out at you. This place makes me very uncomfortable.

My biggest concern is the very young and the very old that frequent the place. I know that the very old is generally going to buy lottery tickets but I can’t be sure what is in the bags the young people carry.
