The Loveless Marriage

The Loveless Marriage

Inspired by the afternoon delight call in radio program. There are so many reasons why people find themselves in a loveless marriage but the only real reason is an absense so profound, we chose to disbelieve.

These past 12 years has been in despair

Hoping for something we used to share

Excitement left when the love died

Love is gone but in marriage we abide

Our home is divided, we’re now roommates

Visions of togetherness he now hates

Everything is gone that is not property

Like dreams of a perfect family

Evenings and nights once filled with laughter

Supper time, breakfast time, all times together.

So rich with love and when we started

My thoughts could never have perceived we’ll be parted.

And now we must go our separate ways

Regardless of the façade he now portrays.

Returning to this house every night

Intent on dispelling what the stigma might.

A broken marriage is really a clear sign

God is absent, He was left behind.

Evils like lust and greed opened the door

That let hatred in now love lives here no more
