The Pastor's Angel
I received a forward in my e-mail from an old school friend. She was right, I did like the forward. I make it a habit not to read forwards and the good sometimes gets lost in the bath water. The testimony of the old lady was compelling enough to inspire this brief poem. It will remind me of the testimony and now I can share it
The Pastor's AngelT
he testimony of the old lady touched my heart,H
er life seemed hopeless and she chose to depart.E
arlier that stormy day a little boy did entreat,P
astor Dad to permit him to go alone on the street.A
lone he was passing out tracts while it was raining,S
oaked now to the bone at her door he was ringing.T
he door went unanswered but he wouldn’t despair,O
ur old lady loosened the noose and descended the chair.R
inging persistently had brought her to the door,S
uicide attempt would be no more.A
n angel had delivered God’s message today,N
o rain or Pastor Dad could get in its way.G
od’s word made her changed her destiny,E
