I'm a Stranger in my backyard

The Changing Community

Time goes bye so slowly

How it has erased the good times long gone!

Eons stretch the hours daily

Countless days seemed packed into one

Here I’ve seen many changes

A community evolving in front my eyes

Now I’m not sure what really is

Greetings only seem like good-byes

I regret my lost memories

No pictures taken to freeze time in space

Gone forever such possibilities

Can never see again the beauty of this place

Once the road was rich in song

Melodies from the birds interrupted by a moo

My road now is very long

Unlimited car horns and the black smoke they blew

New comers don’t know me and never tried

I have become a stranger in my neighborhood

The hope of a better life has died

Yesterdays were better but tomorrow never would
